Update 12/09/11 - We successfully cycled the heights of the Giant of Provence - Mont Ventoux! An absolutely brilliant day which we shared with the manic supporters of a french youth charity holding an event on the same day. More to follow when we return to the UK but for now a few pictures can be viewed on the Mont Ventoux tab on this website. For September 2012 we both aim to reach the top of Alpe d'Huez and the Col du Galibier.
We are fundraising in support of the charity Beating Bowel Cancer and we hope you can follow our story of a family affected by bowel cancer on this website. If you're a Twitter fan, please follow our journey and ask all your friends to join us. Together we can raise awareness of Bowel Cancer.
Boris Johnson, Mayor of London has given the following message of support to our challenge:
“From one cycling enthusiast to another, it is with great pleasure that I wish you all a thrilling day as you raise awareness and support for Beating Bowel Cancer in Ian’s memory. Awareness, education and support are key, and the dedicated work of Beating Bowel Cancer can make a real difference in enhancing the experience of patients and their families. I urge you all to back this cycling challenge to the top of legendary Mont Ventoux, in whatever way possible, so those affected by bowel cancer can continue to get the support they need.”

Our thoughts are with the family of our close friend Richard Ibbs who sadly lost his battle with Bowel Cancer this morning. RIP Richard, you were a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed by us all.
